After yesterday’s adventure (3 hours of suffering spinning that got me tired and depressed, I took the MASH out under a 20 decrees C Sun and got dirty pedaling in the remains of last Winter.
Chocolate milk is guuuud…
Got the medal… with my time on it: 87h 26 minutes.
And big thanks to the BC Randonneurs’ leadership for that edition.
Although there is controversy about the exact distance actually performed, this is still an exploit to admire.
That being said, this swimmer uses techniques of psychological immersion to detach himself from the difficulties. Basically, while swimming, he imagines himself in another place he’d like to be, and try to imagine all the details of what his sensations would be like, as well as behavior of people, dress style, expressions, etc.
